I consider myself a bit of a passionate, open book, get-right-down-to-the-heart-of-the-matter kind of girl. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, as they say, and leave a piece of my soul behind in much of what I do in life. Particularly true in my relationships and the work I do. A definite chord was struck when I stumbled upon this lovely little arrangement of letters:

—> M  E  R  A   K  I <—

pronounced: may•rah•kee; Greek: adj.

~ To do something with soul, creativity or love ~

~ To put "something of yourself" into what you're doing ~

~ There is no English equivalent for this word. Meraki is (unsurprisingly, untranslatable ~

Whether it's in the care of my crazy kids, looking after my nutty as fruit cake dogs, fostering the care of friend and family relationships, dancing my booty off and leaving my heart on the stage at a show, preparing a home cooked meal in the heart of my kitchen, or in the marketing and graphic design work I do, I feel this lovely collection of letters hits me right down to the meaty parts of my guts and soul. It perfectly encapsulates my aim and ambition in all that I do.

Yes, I've done marketing and graphic design work for more than 25 years. Yes, I've worked in a wide range of fields doing this kind of work. And, YES, even as of late, I've been growing my clientele and have projects constantly in the hopper. But now, I'm making it an official revelation -- declared out loud -- that THIS is what I do, and should YOU have the need, please know that in all of my work I promise to leave something of myself behind. You will find my heart, soul and greatest depths of creativity right within every single marketing and design piece I give breath to. If any of these words, ideas or notions strike a chord with you, and you would like to work with me to bring your ideas to reality, then let's give life to your project together.
